Company Description
We are a Mexican Company searching for the best quality in travertines and onix. We are quarry owners and producers able to supply all over the world with competitive prices. Marmifera process the Marble Travertines and Onix starting from the quarrying, processing up to the finished transformed product, trading rough, semi finished and cut to size slabs.
Before its opening in 2011, Marmifera inventoried half a million square feet of marble and granite from all over the world, to supply the rapid expansion of Mexico City's Real Estate market.  This city constructed in ten years more than "the" forty years that preceded. Not only does Marmifera sell imported slabs of about sixty materials from all over the globe; we own domestic quarries that supply Mexican demand with thousands of square meters sold internally and again... Thousands of cubic meters ready to supply the world.
Our quarries are located in:
Veracruz
Tamaulipas
Oaxaca
One of our three partners owns another stone industry joint venture with a five million dollar state of the art processing plant in the State of Puebla, which complements our strategy to offer our clients stone that we quarry, process and sell directly to different markets.
On the export division, even though our main material is a very distinct Vein Cut Travertine, which we are in the process of marketing in the United Arab Emirates (displacing high quality Turkish stone in their own backyard), we were one of three representatives from Mexico at the 2013 Xiamen Stone Fair, which has displaced all the stone fairs in the world becoming the most important worldwide, we sent and commercialized 150 tons of Onyx blocks successfully.  Such was our impact in that Fair that Steve Lan, owner of SFS Stone, Xiamen (www.sfs-stone.com), a major player in the Xiamen-Shitou Stone Market, flew to Mexico City and then to Houston to plan how we are going to impact to Texan Real Estate boom in a way that allows us to differentiate our product, maybe through developing a showroom that is different from the "typical marble and granite warehouse" to a place where builders, designers, architects and private clients can learn a little about the differences in materials while making it a great buying experience.
We are working to build a strategic relationship with Designer Stone Center, which has been our main client in Houston for many years, hoping to achieve a synergy that allows the American market to see and experience many different Mexican stones to which they have never been exposed.  Jorge Lefebvre, Principal at DSC, which quadrupled it's exhibition space a few months ago, is very busy but very enthusiastic about us forming part of the new Designing Center that he is planning to develop this year.
