Maple Hill is a beautiful cemetery conveniently located near the downtown area of Huntsville. Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc. is a private section situated in the center of the old historic section. Since 1818, Huntsvillians have preferred the tradition and dignity of Maple Hill. Burial spaces in Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc. were made available in 1987, several years after the old section sold out. The last remaining section of Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc. is now open and available for burials.
Rich in Alabama’s history, students from Huntsville and surrounding areas often enjoy a guided history lesson through Maple Hill. Among those buried at Maple Hill are Alabama governors, U.S. senators and statesmen.
The cemetery is known for its beautiful dogwoods in the Springtime. It is equally beautiful in the Fall as the maple leaves change to brilliant hues of color. The beauty and tradition of Maple Hill have been preserved over the years , as great care has been given to maintaining the grounds and preserving the heritage of the cemetery.
