Shirestone® is the latest innovation in countertops - a new and exciting alternative to granite or other solid surface countertops. And CK Stone Custom Countertops, LLC is the San Antonio and Texas Hill Country dealer for Shirestone®. We've been in business since late 2005 and have installed numerous countertops for both residential and commerical settings in both indoor and outdoor applications. What is Shirestone? It's basically a concrete-type product that was specifically designed to be used in countertop applications. Traditional concrete was never intended for use in countertops; it was meant to be used for driveways! Shirestone on the other hand, is meant for countertops. Because of our proprietary blend, we are able to pour the countertops about a half-inch thick - while maintaing strength and preventing cracking. Once installed, Shirestone is actually lighter in weight than granite countertops, but because of our dramatic edge profiles, the tops look much thicker and heavier. During installation, each countertop is custom textured and colored so that the end-result is a countertop that looks like a huge piece of natural stone. And because it's poured-in-place, Shirestone is completely seamless; regardless of the size or shape of the job.
