Matrix Marble and Stone started in 1980 on the corner of Allenby Road and the Island Highway in Duncan BC where we are today. Dennis Zanatta had a vision that there was a future for marble & granite dimensional stone on Vancouver Island. With the basic premise of offering good products with good service, the business grew and we expanded the varieties of granite and marble to meet the rising popularity of these unique stones.  
We started to import unusual granites and marble from abroad and our first container (shown here) arrived in the summer of 1982. That started a trend that has continued to this day allowing Matrix Marble & Stone to offer the largest selection of granite and marble for discriminating customers on Vancouver Island.
Dennis Zanatta brought with him from Italy an ingrained knowledge of how to work fine stones to maximize the potential of the beauty within. He passed on much of this knowledge and insights to his son Ivo Zanatta about the subtleties of fine stonework. Knowing the sources and the ways of getting the products to satisfied customers has been a legacy passed on from father to son. 
Over the years, Matrix Marble & Stone has grown into the full service operation it is today. Even some of the early crew are still with the firm after decades of quality service. We continue to recognize the tradition we uphold from the beginning as purveyors of fine stone.
