Granipex Group is a mining, processing and exporting company of natural stone from Brazil.
Founded in 1968 by Arlindo de Souza, a Portuguese emigrant, the Group started as a stone deposit and distribution company for the national market. In 1988 it expanded to explore its own slate and quartzite quarries in the state of Minas Gerais.
In 1999, the Group’s first exports began, consolidating themselves in the international market as one of the main exporters in this sector in Brazil, reaching the mark of more than 50 countries on 5 continents. Since then, Granipex has been uninterruptedly participating in the main stone shows all around the world.
Our headquarters is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, close to one of the largest Brazilian ports, providing direct and efficient monitoring throughout the operational export process.
In 2009 the group opened its first unit in Europe, Eurogranipex, created to distribute its Brazilian products in Europe as well as exports of Portuguese products, such as limestones, marbles, granites and slate.
In 2015 the group acquired new gneiss quarries in the state of Rio de Janeiro, further increasing its line of new materials, such as Lucerna, Ultra, Yellow Grumari and Harpia.
