Company Description

We are a Complete Design studio and Manufacturers

The story of this establishment started when ZMG's founder, Baktiyar Ahmad, was mesmerised by the art of the Afghan people as he visited the northern hilly areas of Pakistan. He established a small business of hand-crafted marble inlay art. It is currently one of the top stone industry exporters and processors, supplying hand-crafted artwork across the country and working to establish a global presence by showcasing our culture through art.

The 2002-founded ZMG company offers a variety of hand-crafted mosaics, including Islamic calligraphy and mosaics as wall art, swimming pool art, fireplaces, table tops, flooring, fountains, ceilings, and garden ornaments.

Our Story

During the Afghan war of 2002, Afghans sought asylum in their neighboring countries. The immigrants lived in extreme conditions without aid or government support. Amongst them were Afghani craftsmen and women who made handicrafts for sustenance. Pakistan lacks sufficient employment opportunities to sustain new refugees. Inspired by the Afghan people and their determination and devotion to earn for themselves, Bakityar hired Afghan refugees, established a small workshop, hired more individuals, and trained them with the help of Afghan artisans. To preserve their culture and their art for future generations to come. It was the era of enjoining another rich culture with the roots of Pakistan.

His son, Aitezaz Ahmad, continues to strive and expand the institution his father started into one of the most sought-after interior design companies in Pakistan and throughout the globe. He has a degree in creative design and wants to use it, along with the assistance of his Afghan brothers, to produce cutting-edge artwork.

One of his other son Mr Aizaz Ahmad manages the business as he is specialise in business development and continues to assist the client with his creative ideas

Our Artwork

The 16th-century marble inlay artwork, also known as pietra dura or Parchin Kari, is a work of art in which gemstones and marble are combined to create a complex mandala, or geometric pattern, both colourful and intricate. It became popular in the subcontinent during the reign of the Mughal Empire, as the Mughals had an inquisitive taste in art, music, food, and entertainment. To this date, these marvellous paintings in stone are still preserved, like the Purna Qila of Delhi, the Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque, the marble tiles of Taj Mahal, the tomb of Quaid-E-Azam, Badshahi Mosque, and lastly, as the Mihrab of mosques that direct the way of Qibla (Makkah).

The technological era of our times has discarded many old techniques in favour of more modern and minimalistic ones. We stay connected with our roots and use old techniques with modern technology to honour the past and preserve history.

ZMG works to promote handicrafts, which are rare spectacles in today's fast-paced world. “Even pebbles can make a masterpiece if appropriately arranged”, as Aitetzaz Ahmad once said.

Our Vision Statement

“Dream, take action, create, and strive.”

. The lesson in these words is that no dream is too small to pursue, so have the courage to start something, do it, and then work to make it the best you can.

Our Recognition

Our Samples

One of our most proud moments as small business owners is that we are endorsed by our influential families and the government of Pakistan. This is an achievement that motivates us to continuously strive because no effort goes undone.

Here are two prominent artworks completed by ZMG’s finest artisans:

One of our most adored masterpieces is the bass relief ceiling, advocated by one of Pakistan's most influential families, the owner of Nishat Groups, through the daughter-in-law of Mian Mansha (Iqra Mansha).

It is a great moment of pride and honour for our Wall Art Mosaic work to be displayed at the Honourable Punjab Assembly, Chief Minister’s and Prime Minister's Houses in Lahore.
