The social and economic history of the municipality of S.Ambrogio di Valpolicella has always been closely connected with the quarrying and processing of marble.
CREMAR SpA was established in this economic context in 1851. It started out as a small company with just a few employees and machines. The marble was almost entirely processed by hand and the products were more artistic than industrial.
Following the post-war reconstruction and the opening of the German market, which had a positive influence on local demand, CREMAR SpA began its industrial development.
After consolidating its presence in Europe, it focused on international markets, such as the Middle East, the United States of America, Canada and the Far East. Its constant commitment, continual research into new materials, far-reaching knowledge of individual markets and aggressive commercial penetration, allowed the company to achieve a leading position in all international markets.
